What size lift
do you actually need?

Rule of thumb: pick a lift rated for ~20% over the boat’s loaded weight (boat + fuel + gear + a little buffer for ice or rain pooling in the bilge). Here’s how that plays out for common Brevard County boats.

We size for the boat you’ll own in five years, not the one you have today. If you tell us you might upsize, we’ll engineer pilings & cradle accordingly.

4-Post Conventional

Most common · up to 24,000 lb

Why
Reliable, simple, easy to service. Four aluminum posts, two cables per side, marine motor on the dock-side.
Set on
Existing or new pilings tied into the dock structure.
Best for

Most residential applications. Default unless your site says otherwise.

TYPE · B

Cantilever / Elevator

Shallow water · tight slips

Why
No overhead beam — great for sailboats or sites where headroom is limited. Lifts vertically without cradle drop.
Capacity
Up to 12,000 lb.
Best for

Sailboats with mast clearance issues, dockside slips with overhead obstructions.

PWC / Jet Ski Cradle

1,500–3,000 lb · single or double

Why
Sized specifically for PWCs. Drive-on / drive-off cradle keeps the bottom clean and the jet pump fresh.
Set on
A platform off your main dock or its own side-mount frame.
Best for

Households with one or two PWCs that get used weekly.

Hydraulic Pier-Mount

Premium · 30,000 lb+

Why
For heavier sportfish or yacht tenders. Hydraulic drive instead of cables. Lower maintenance, higher cost.
Capacity
Custom engineered, up to 60,000 lb.
Best for

Owners with 35 ft+ sportfish, custom yachts, or commercial applications.

03 · Common questions

Lift questions, answered.

Maybe. Existing pilings rarely have the bury depth or diameter for a lift load. We can usually drive supplemental pilings and tie them in, but we engineer the addition first — never assume.
$10,000 for a 4,500 lb lift, $12,000–$13,000 for 10,000 lb, $18,000–$19,000 for 16,000 lb — install all-in including motor, GFCI panel, remote, and 2-year install warranty. Larger custom hydraulic units are quoted per site.
2 days on a permitted dock with pilings already set. 1–2 weeks if we need to drive new pilings. We schedule electrical to land the same day the lift goes in so you can wet-test before we leave the site.
Flush the cradle bunks after salt-water use. Lube cables annually (we’ll show you). Inspect cables every 3–5 years and replace on schedule. Motor is sealed and effectively maintenance-free for a decade.
If properly storm-prepped — yes. Lower the boat into the water (boats float, lifts don’t), remove cradle bunks, strap the motor. We provide a one-page storm checklist with every install.
